Business Meeting #1 (Friday) in Ketner Auditorium at Queens University, Charlotte NC
Following an opening prayer by Pastor Karl Gaston, Secretary Suzanne Bathe conducted a Delegate Roll Call to confirm that the meeting quorum was met. Pastor Karl then commissioned the delegates and President Brian Comeno called the business meeting to order.
After some opening remarks, Bob Lewis, the Nomination Committee Chair, came forward and presented the following candidates for the NLS board positions that are coming open for the 2025-2027 term.
Office of President: Brian Comeno
Vice President of Outreach: Kim Brownlow and Tom Kirk
Secretary: Suzanne (Sue) Bathe and Heidi Schneiter
Following this, President Comeno called for any nomination from the floor for the positions of President, Secretary, and VP of Outreach. No additional nominations were presented and a motion to close nominations was made, seconded, and carried. With only one nomination for president, a motion was offered to accept Brian Comeno as President by acclamation. This motion carried unanimously.
Treasurer Jerry Gray presented the proposed 2026 budget and discussed the income projection for 2026. At that time, the meeting went into recess until the next day.
