The Evening Vespers continued with the Weekend Verse- I am the Potter you are the clay. Karen Weires was the MC tonight. We started by giving everyone a pencil and a piece of rice paper. The two singers was Lisa and Gary. Lisa has been spotted all weekend with a monkey on her back. The monkeys name is Addiction.
At the request of Karen, Lisa laid Addiction at the foot of the Cross. Lisa had another monkey hiding on her back, and that monkey’s name was Shame. Lisa explained that Shame came from Addiction; Shame was then laid at the foot of the Cross. Symbolizing giving it up to God. Gary sang My Jesus, a song about getting past your point of worry and things being too heavy for you. Karen spoke about giving it up to God and receiving his forgiveness.
Karen then had everyone to write down their heavy burdens, addictions, shame, and what they would like to be forgiven for. Everyone then took the rice paper and placed it in the Potter’s water to dissolve and go to God. The closing hymn reminded us to Never Stop Praying. Pastor G Karl Gaston gave the benediction and forgiveness of the sins.
