Forum #1 – Aaron Colwick

Forum Number 1 Everyone that was able to attend was there.

Last year, Aaron was the first ever Seminarian to receive the NLS Scholarship.  Aaron gave us a brief history of his life.  He told us that it was the VDC that made him realize his unknown life dream of becoming a Pastor.

Aaron started with the joke that Pastor Tami stole all of his notes.  We are the ‘clay’.  God cares a lot less about making me impressive and a lot more about making me faithful.  Aaron talked about our weekend verse Isaiah 64:8, and reminded us that without reading the chapter all the way through that we are looking at a verse without context.  Making it a pretext.

Why did Isaiah use clay as a metaphor?  Simply put in biblical times, every home had pottery items made from clay; making it something very easily known not matter what the social economic status was.  The importance was placed on the Potter and not the clay.  God is not informing me, He is FORMING me.  Aaron left us with the question of, “Where have I seen the Potter’s hands in my life?”
